It was two days after Halloween and I was still kinda nursing a hangover from that night. I had already had a Mild Mannered Reporter, all 3% of it, and Mark and Julie had arrived, so it was time to move on. I went downstairs and came back up with some options. I brought with me Paranormal and Black Wych. On the way up the stairs, I read that Black Wych was a porter, so I made the executive decision to drink Paranormal next and leave the porter out to warm up.
After lunch, we figured it was warm enough and popped them open. Now, Wychwood has made some really good beers, so our expectations for this were high. It poured out black and smelled sweet, like a porter should. It tasted…..like a porter. There was a little raisin flavour in the booty, but other than that, meh.
It was decent, but I’m afraid it didn’t rank very high because of our expectations. Oops.
