I saw this at Total Wine and I just had to have it. I mean, beer is like 90% bread anyway right? Just add flour. Seems like a logical step to save some carbs and just let us drink our bread instead.
Not a month goes by in our house that we don’t have some sort of banana bread product (muffins, loaf, mini muffins….you get it). And my wife makes the bestest banana bread around (I have to say that, she reads the blog now).
So, I cracked it open after freezing my butt off at the boys soccer practice. First thing I smell is banana. Like, a lot of it. Perfect! Then I try it, and at first its kinda like a banana freezie or popsicle (read:gross), but after my mouth got used it it, I stated to taste the beer portion of the mix. The banana flavour, mixed in with the yeasty beer made it a beautiful treat beer.
By the end of the bottle, it was starting to get a little sweet for me though. Don’t think I could drink more than one at a time. I’d like to use it in some actual banana bread some day…..
