When I saw this at Publix, I was surprised, to say the least. We’ve all heard of Boston Lager, but now they make an ale? Interesting.
We made spaghetti for dinner and I had already had a few other beers during the day, so I wanted to drink something that I figured would be light, crisp and smooth.
Boston Ale poured out a nice amber colour. It smelled like..well, it just smelled like beer. Nothing specifically jumped out at me. I tried it, and it seemed a little too heavy for an ale. It had a healthy amount of malts that made it not as smooth or crisp as I expected it to be.
It was ok, but a rare miss for Sam Adams in my opinion.
