A few weeks back, Mark and Julie went to Niagara Falls for their anniversary. While they were there, they swung by a few breweries and got some fun new beers. Two of those fun new beers, they got in a growler, a giant 3L bottle that’s filled from the taps at the brewery. You have 5 days to drink it before it goes bad. Around us, beer doesn’t last that long.
I had fun trying to pour it out of such a large vessel. It was really heavy and hard to be accurate. A little may have spilled out on the counter. I filled 4 pint glasses to the top and told everyone to come ‘n get ’em.
First off, it was quite hoppy, and that’s nice! But as soon as that is down the hatch, there is this strange after taste that lingers. We really couldn’t put our fingers on it until we jokingly said it tasted like hay (barnraiser…get it?). Then we all tried it again, with that in mind. Damn! It tastes like hay…or grass. Amazing
We all agreed that this would be a great beer for drinking after a hard day at work, even if you don’t raise barns. It is a highly drinkable beer that is just awesome. You could drink one of these….or four Coors Lights. … advantage Barnraiser!
