Autumn is a great time in beer land. Pumpkin ales, Oktoberfest lagers and super fresh wet hopped autumn ales. This is where they add fresh hops to the mix which brings in a more potent, spicier flavour to the beer. Muskoka has some pretty amazing beers, so their take on wet hopping should be good.
It came corked and caged, and I had a hell of a time getting it off, but eventually, a few grunts later, it popped off. It poured out really, really dark. It smelled like, well… feet. It wasn’t pleasant, but once you tasted it, all that foot aroma goes away. It’s replaced by a beer with the right amount of hops and a hint of mango. Interesting.
Keep in mind we had been drinking for most of the day and were running out of things to say about beer at this point. So I guess I will have to buy another one and try it earlier in the day. Twist my arm!
