Next from the gifts Jackie brought back from Montreal was Floreffe Tripel. Without thinking, I grabbed new glasses from the cupboard and started to pour it out. Jackie’s came out nice and smooth with a little head. Mine, on the other had, was the total wrong glass. It foamed up something fierce! While I waited for the head to settle, I decided to read what little English was on the label. Two of the only words I could understand were the words “sugar cane”. Oh no, that sounds sweet.
It was a dark orangey colour and it smelled like sugar. It tasted strong and thick like a tripel usually is, but was way too sweet. This has the same alcohol content as the La Chouffe we just had, but this tasted way stronger.
It took me a long time to finish it, but I did.
