Jackie was in town, again, and this time, she showed up with beer from her recent trip to Montreal. She managed to grab three beers that a) I haven’t had and 2) aren’t even available in Ontario. Good work.
She stuck around and I chose La Chouffe as our first beer. I had their Double IPA earlier this year and this is a golden blonde. It poured out dark gold and developed a tiny-bubbled white head. There were some pretty big floaties swimming around the bottom.
It smelled like a sweet white beer. When I tasted it, it was just like a blonde, at first, and then the booze factor kicked in. After you got used to that, it was pretty damn good. It was light tasting, a little sweet and easy to drink for an 8% beer.
