Thanksgiving was coming up and Kevin and Teri were coming down. I had asked Kevin to pick up a beer to two from wherever he could in Toronto (it didn’t matter where) and bring them as his contribution to the meal.
He sent me a pic on Friday afternoon of two beers, both JUST bottled an hour before he grabbed them. This one, which Teri really wanted to start with, is a cross between a sour and a wheat beer. I can see how that could work, I’m game to try it.
After a Creemore Oktoberfest (which Kevin did not like) we poured this out. It was a hazy yellow and it smelled different from any other wheat beer, with a mix of sour, a little sweet and a little funk.
It tasted sweet with a sharp vinegar booty. It was mild on the way down, but there was a very sour tinge on the booty that got worse as it warmed up. It did not finish well.
Kevin did not finish his, Teri did. She loved it.
