One of the things that drew me to this mixer pack was the awesome names of the beer. Eliot Ness, being a famous part of prohibition, is a rather ironic name for a beer.
So what is this beer? A Vienna Lager. Huh? Well not sure about that fancy name, but the taste was malty and smooth, with just a touch of hops.
After a little research turns out that hint was my old friend noble hops….really good beer.
I’m not going to lie. I did not take notes on this beer so I can’t tell you what it tasted like. I remember not hating it, if that helps. I do, however, remember the write-up on the back that says that Mr. Ness, when he was a safety director, used to frequent a pub that is now Great Lakes Brew Pub. Ya, the same building. That’s pretty cool.
