And with this beer, Stout Day officially comes to an end. I wanted to keep this guy for last, since it had the highest ABV. I figured if we did it first, we get all drunk before getting to others. This way, we worked our way up the scale. Genius!
I’ve had a few Grand River beers before, and for the most part, they were all pretty good. Every good brewer needs to have a stout in their repertoire, right? So how about an 8% Imperial stout. Turns out, not that bad.
It was black when poured out with a nice thick, creamy head. It was slightly smokey on the way down, but disappeared after a few seconds. If it weren’t for the 8%, this would be a great summer everyday kinda beer, but I don’t think I want to build up that kind of tolerance any time soon!
