This is the second beer from the BC Craft Brewers Guild’s fall sampler pack that I seem to be taking my sweet time drinking. I’ve had it in the fridge for a long time, but I’ve had other beers that I wanted to drink first. The first Dead Frog that I had was pretty awesome, so I was hoping that this one would be as well. So, on a night that the wife and I were making copious amounts on lasagnas, I grabbed it.
It poured out amber and had lots of big floaty chunks in it. It smelled strongly hopped and wheaty-sweet like most Belgian beers do. It was very boozy tasting for only being 5%, but you could really taste the Belgianess of the yeast. The closer that I got to the bottom, and closer to the bits, the more bitter it became.
It was good. I really do enjoy BC beer.
