After my post for Devil’s Pale Ale, the guys at Great Lakes Brewery responded by suggesting that I try their Crazy Canuck Pale Ale. So I went out and got it. Here you go guys…
It was definitely different, like the label said. I opened it up and I got a big punch of what I thought was pine. It kind of smelled like sap. Luckily it didn’t taste like maple syrup.
I was drinking it while eating some lovely homemade burgers with lots of garlic and spice so I made sure to try it before taking my first bite. It had a moderate hoppy taste and there was a slight bitter end. Then I had some burger, and then another sip… don’t do that! If they intended garlic to be in beer they would have put it in there.
So after downing my burgers, I resumed the can. The best way to describe it, I think, is the little brother of Devil’s Pale Ale… just not evil enough yet.
