I’m rocking a bunch of Oktoberfest beers this year, and this one comes from one of my new favourite brewers. Their Summer Ale was amazing and I know I’ve had the lager before too, just in my pre-blog days.
Aside from the label, that can give you a headache if you look at it too long, this beer was great. It smelled like brown bread. For serious. Like a fresh-baked loaf. I love that. It had a fairly sweet taste to it, with all those malts, and it kinda reminded me of Beau’s Night Marzen, only lighter. It did leave my mouth a little dry, but not that bad. It was probably only because it was a single, small bottle.
All I have to say is, I friggin’ love this time of year. Oktoberfest beers, pumpkin beers, harvest ales…fantastic time to be a beer lover.
