We were all set to have roast beast for dinner, and what’s the best style of beer to have with it? Stout! The only one I had in the fridge was this one, a big, chocolatey stout. Before I sat down, I poured it out and let it breathe a little. Of course it was blackity black and it smelled like booze and chocolate.
I remember Mark saying that it got way better when it was warm, but what does he know? I tried it right away. It was very strong. The alcohol was only slightly overpowered by the dark malts, and then the chocolate booty stuck around for a while. It did get much better as it warmed. The booziness was less and the chocolate was more pronounced. At that point, it was actually pretty great.
Perfect choice for roast beast!
