After the gift portion of Christmas III was over, the older in-laws went home and the younger ones stayed for a while to drink more beer. Sounds like a great Tuesday, doesn’t it? I went and grabbed the only kind of winter beer we had left and brought it up to many moans. Neither Mark nor Julie wanted to try this one. There was something about the “hibiscus” word that really turned them off. I have no idea what a hibiscus is anyway.
It poured out a dark copper colour and smelled like pepper and what I assume is hibiscus. It tasted like Blue Moon and pepper with a pretty sour, floral after taste. Apparently I don’t like hibiscus either. I should have learned my lesson after HiCu. At least, as it warmed up, the pepper flavour took over. That made it a little better. Not great, but not horrible.
