I wanted something new and I had two Black Oak brews in the fridge, one pale, one dark. I chose the pale as the first one to try.
I poured it out and sat down on the couch to finish up our Sons of Anarchy marathon (of three months, all 6 seasons). It was dark copper and had no head at all. It had some really nice hop smells to it, too. It tasted kinda hoppy and slightly malty, but it was light, which I didn’t expect. Since it was a 650 ml bottle, it took me a while to get to the bottom of it, and while I did, obviously, it warmed up. When it did, it started to take on more of the hop character and it finished quite bitter.
This would probably make a great summer beer, but we’ll have to wait for a while, Mark just came back from Florida with the first instalment of contraband beers, I’ll bring back the rest when I go. (there are about 70)
