Here’s a beer that that craft brewing to a whole new level. Black Creek Brewery is located inside the Black Creek Pioneer Village in North Toronto. There, they make the beer and bottle it the same way they would have back in the 1860’s, using oak barrels and all. It’s really quite an interesting place when you look around their site.
But enough about that, lets talk beer. Warren had this one night he and I were texting (until we set up a video pod cast, this is the best we can do). I hadn’t had it before, so I wrote it down and the next time I was in the LCBO, I looked for it.
It pours out dark copper and smells of hops. Lots of hops. After I took my first sip, it was a mash up of hops and malt, very different from anything else I’ve had. Warren says it has more malt than hop, but who’s counting?
