Here we have the second of the new Bellwoods beers my brother brought down from Toronto for me. Stay Classy was a hit, now it’s time to see what their farmhouse is like.
It was a nice day out, so when the wife suggested I BBQ some sausages, I was all excited. It’s been a while since she’s been able to eat anything like that and I’ve been craving some greasy, not-so-good-for-you food. Together with some left over mac-n-cheese, I had a fantastically “healthy” pairing for a strong beer.
It poured out a cloudy, pale yellow. It smelled of the usual farmhouse aromas, grass, wheat, hay, dirt. The first taste was nice. The second was better. The third I could taste some nice earthiness (that’s the dirt!). By the time taste number 5 and 6 cane around, it was full on booze. It was very sweet and very boozy. Probably a little too much for me in this weather.
Now, out on a patio on a hot summer day or on a late August afternoon….that would be something.
