Here it is. The last of the Beau’s Oktoberfest pack. I am still yet to find a Beau’s that blows me away. Oktobock and Night Marzen, those are the only two I like. Two Weeks Notice is a German porter, so there’s only so much they can do with it, right?
It poured out super black and smelled smokey. It tasted smokey and malty, like a traditional porter. It was a little harsh in the first few sips, but as it warmed, it got better. This was the first of the porter beers we had during an impromptu porter night (we had 4 in all).
It’s not horrible, but it wasn’t anything special either. I know the guys at Beau’s make some crazy beers, and I don’t mind trying them, but I need to find one that actually tastes good from start to finish. Lug Tread might be it…..I’ll let you know.
