Another of the gluten free beers, which I see are starting to show up a lot more in the LCBO. Either there are lots of people suffering from celiacs disease, or they are just more concerned about what they put into their body (then they shouldn’t be drinking beer)
The last gluten free beer that I had was Nickel Brook Gluten Free, and it was made with pear juice, so it was noticeably sweet. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one, the only thing it had different was sorghum instead of barely.
I pried of the top and there was something written under the cap: “Are we living in a computer simulation?” I assume that since their motto is “Discuss it over a Bard’s”, they’re setting the topic, much like the old SNL skit with Mike Myers, “Coffee Talk”
Anyways, the beer smelled sweet, kinda like oranges. And it tasted a little … off? there was just something that wasn’t right with the first few pulls. But then the pizza got here and, magically, it started to taste better.
So, if you’re going to drink Bard’s Gold, a beer for the health conscience beer drinker, do it while eating greasy pizza!
