This was the last beer of the night, and definitely the hardest to finish. I’ve seen a few other people post reviews of it and they were all over the board. It really all depends on how much porter you like in your porter.
This one poured out black with a thick beige head that seemed to stick around for a while. It smelled sweet like malts, but a certain “alcohol” smell lingered after. The first taste was all sweetness, dark malts and some sugar maybe. Then it turned bitter and harsh. It took on a nice smokey flavour as it warmed up, but it wasn’t enough to save it at that point.
Matt wasn’t a fan, but his idea of a strong beer is 6% Bud Shots. I like learning people things.
