I picked up this beer from the LCBO because a) it was from Italy and 2) the woman on the label has huge….tracks of land!
I finally got around to drinking it one night when the wife and I were struggling to decide what to have for dinner after a tough night of kids’ activities. It was 9:45, and we decided on subs. I got there as they were putting everything away. For the first time in my life, I was THAT guy.
The label says it’s a unique amber beer. Sounds good. Malty amber beer and cold cut comb….wha? 9 friggin percent? Damn!
It poured out a cloudy amber colour and smelled like a good malty amber. It tasted like alcohol. Serious, that was all I could taste for the first 3 or 4 sips, pure alcohol. Finally, it started to taste like a beer, and it was pretty good. There is no need for that beer to be that strong! It would have been much better even if it were only 7%.
